Text, knew my name and state I reside in, looking for recommendations here.
Called me 3 times at 11:20 at night. Would not say anything, but msg popped up on phone that my husband who was is bed had called and to call him back.
Calling about an item I had placed on Facebook Marketplace. Wanted to pre-pay for the item through his “Zelle’s business account” and send someone over to pick up item the next day. Told him I did not have Zelle account and suggested I enroll. Very adamant about paying through Zelle and did not want to pay cash.
Asking about a Marketplace ad, but were messaging me in regular messaging, NOT in Messenger. Never had any contact with them in the Marketplace app. Sight unseen, they wanted to Venmo me the payment. When told I don't have Venmo, they wanted me to get it so they could send money. When told "cash only" they insisted I get Venmo. Claimed to be disabled, sent a photo of a woman and said she was purchasing for her son. Claimed to live a couple of hours away. Never discussed price. Red flags on this!
Called and hung up without leaving a message. Call originated in Green Bay Wisconsin. I'm in North Carolina and do not know anyone in Green. Bay.
