They called and thanked me for signing up for their service at $99 per month. They then told me to NOT hang up if I wanted to cancel. I hung up anyway because I wasn’t going to provide them anymore personal information- the damn bastards!
They claim I need to call them back immediately about my gold IRA account. I had made changes with my financial representative then started receiving these types of calls 10 min later. I called my financial rep directly and was told they are scams - do not call. Block them and they will keep calling to keep blocking them.
A voice message was left by the scammer appearing to be using this number. The call is a robocall scam using a recorded message. The scammers are making illegal use of Xfinity's trademark. For anyone receiving similar calls DO NOT call the scammer back. Following is a transcript of that VM: "Hello, this is Mia from Xfinity, leaving you an urgent voicemail that our system shows your 50% discount on your monthly bill is set to expire tonight. If I do not receive your call today, this change will be permanent. Please call back using the caller ID showing to prevent losing this discount. Thank you. I am waiting for your call."
Texted "Are you available?" Obviously a scam attempt, or phishing for info to exploit. My area code is Idaho, I don't know anyone in LA, California, and I don't participate in junior high drama. This was the first of 2 texts in quick succession: the 2nd text I received (and reported just before this one) was from 213-563-6067 saying "Can we just talk?" Dumb bots.
