COX NEBRASKA TELECOM, INC.
Got unwanted call from 402-609-5398?
They have called me repeatedly from this number after I tried to make an online purchase (while here in the states) of a rare book in Marrakech, Morocco. It was less than $200. My purchase was rejected by the credit card for this reason only. It is a good account with a high dollar limit, which I pay off in full each month. I frequently make pricey purchases with a credit card, but because the attempted purchase was for an item outside of USA - this appears to have triggered a suspicion of fraud. The curious thing is that every time they call, it is from a garbled telephone with foreign speakers apparently from overseas. Not only was this embarrassing to me with the seller in another country, but why does this STUPID credit card company (registered in Nebraska only for the reason that the state is pro business with taxes and laws) farm out this type of work to an offshore company with foreign speakers calling you to double check? STUPID! No, I am not calling them back, because the wisdom is to never talk to foreign speakers who call at random about your private business. If they shut down my account over this, I will sue them!
Foreign female, could barely speak English. Left voicemail saying they were from member services at my bank, said they needed to verify charges on my card, left a different number to call.
My bank said it was scam.
Got a call from this number yesterday and today. Voicemail left stating they were from my bank and there was suspicious activity on my card. Gave a different number to call back on. Both callers had middle eastern accents. I called my local branch to check my account. There was no suspicious activity on my card.
Got a voice message about suspicious activity on my Card. Clamed to be from my bank. They were not.
This is a legit call. I've had calls from them several times in the past and they just want to verify that suspicious charges on my Centris debit card were by me.
Says he and then next day a she is from my bank, DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION !!!
I just had an experience that matches the descriptions you all listed. Calls saying my bank needs to confirm transactions. Says to call back at a different 1-800 number
Calls stating they are from a local credit union. Stares they found fraud on my account. Call several times in the last few months asking for several ppl who live here.
said he was from my bank exchange national checking to see if I spent money on my visa card, and actually knew my last 4 card numbers....scary..
