I’m glad I can to this site first. I went to Microsoft site to see if a charge has happened. Couldn’t find one so I came here. God damn scammers.
I also received an email today. I called the number in the email to cancel and the longer I was on the phone the more it sounded phoney and I told him so and he hung up on me. Thank you all for your comments!
I got the same e-mail, I called from work and they wanted to remote access my computer. Don't fall for this, it is a scam. The guy on the phone was in a boiler room (you could hear in background all the voices) he had an Indian accent and kept telling me to "listen" It was rude and he insisted on accessing my home computer. I never subscribed to microsoft anything. Don't give out any c/c info or access to your computer. BE WARE!!!!!
I received an email regarding the same thing. Window s Defender for 399.99. I called the number and the guy would not even give me his name. When I asked his name was again he said "I did n ot give you my name" like some smart alleck kid. I hung up and he called me back. Of course I did not answer it and have blocked him from calling and emailing me again. Glad I looked up the number and it brought me here so I don't feel like I am the only one. Not happy that anyone has gone through this; I really worry about older people that know very little about the computer.
Looking at the email address is it a gmail address sending the email fir windows defender for $399.00. First clue Microsoft or any large company does not use a gmail address

I received 2 emails from this number saying they are going to use my account on file for an upcoming renewal with Windows Defender. I never had an account with them, I am glad I checked here first.
This number was listed on the email to call to cancel the $399.99 subscription for Windows Defender. Unfortunately, it's similar to another program I'm paying for so I allowed them to "remote" on my computer. Hope they didn't download anything during that time. Bottom line, they tried to get me to go to my bank and "accept" the refund. When I refused, the guy finally hung up on me. The could've gotten my bank info had I done that.
