Scammers from Mumbai, India, using Anglo pseudonyms, and using VOIP Phone "switch" numbers spoofed to local US area codes, claiming to be from "Windows Support". They give fake US company addresses which cannot be verified on Google Maps. If you take the bait, they take control of your computer for 1) ID theft including bank account and credit card theft. 2) Install ransomware so that you have to pay them a subscription forever or your computer freezes. Report to ftc.gov/complaints, as cybercrime runs into millions of dollars in theft each year. Hopefully the FTC can prosecute the phone/internet companies they use as "accessories to crime" in the US. The well-connected scamlords in India who run these boiler room type operations bribe local government and law enforcement and are "virtually" immune from prosecution.
