I received similar message and when I told them I was reporting to the local authorities, they were quick to say No do not report to the authorities or any third party. Crazy!!!
I answered this call by saying the following, "Federal Bureau of Investigation, Criminal Fraud Division, this is Agent...insert name." They usually hangup before I even finish my introduction. How rude!!! LOL

yeah same call same story, you could tell it was robo the way he gave number back to you. I knew it wasn't true anyway, they wont call and not from California but I wanted to all back and yell at them LOL
IT'S TAX SEASON - BE WARE! I received a call from this number today, I did not answer it I let it to go my voicemail. Message was "this is SSN Office Richard Martin - there has been suspicious fraudulent activity on you social security number, please call (619) 373-8415." I did not return call.
