Called, no message left. If you’re not in my contacts and no name comes up, I never answer because it’s always a scam. If anyone calls you and you answer, never confirm your name or say “Yes” to anything if they ask you if they are speaking to “John Doe.” If you do and it’s a collection agency the calls are recorded and they edit your answer to manipulate it for their benefit. For example, if they are selling something and you say yes to anything, they edit the recording to sound like you’re confirming that you DO & ARE accepting that purchase. They can and will harass you all hours of every day and even Sunday night’s! Even if you don’t owe anything, you’re guilty in their minds and can legally hound you for years! Portfolio Recovery is a collection agency that acts like the mob. They use local prefixes to trick you to think it’s a call from your town. I don’t know how anyone can live or look at themselves in the mirror knowing that they are willfully working for a company that’s sole purpose is to terrorize people; even if you don’t owe anything. You can’t do anything to satisfy them, even when you’ve proven they are looking for the wrong person. I made the mistake of answering and stating my name and they have been calling me for over 10 years because once you say your name and if it’s on their list, it doesn’t matter if the 7 year statute of limitations is almost over, confirming your name voids the statute and that allows them to continue. I’m not sure if that gives them another 7 years or for how long they can continue to call. Bottom line, don’t answer any calls from anyone you don’t know or are not expecting. I suggest that you put all your doctors and other numbers you don’t use all the time into your phone so you don’t miss a call. My opinion is that if you want to talk to me and I don’t answer, leave a message. If you don’t want me to call you back, then don’t leave a message.
