Area Code 956 Scams and Spam Calls

Calls several times a week, usually three calls in a row, that have dead air on the other end. Sounds like no one is on the other end of the call.

Repeated calls from this number and other 956 area code numbers. Nobody ever talks, dead air. 5-10 calls per week to my business lines. I have called the number from another phone, and I get a message "the service from this number is restricted or unavailable".

called and said they were verifying I order a playstation thru walmart.

Claimed to be Verizon

They left a voicemail of 42 seconds of silence. Deleted and blocked.

says that someone is using our company's information for fraud and they are opening up an investigation.

This number was used as a representative of Delta airlines. The name given as the representative was John Bright. He said he would upgrade our seats to Paris and charged $660 for an upgrade that was never made or recorded with Delta airlines.

I believe it’s a spoofed number but trying to scam people out of money. Making people aware of this number.

Got a call from 956-547-1700 asking for me. Unrecognized number and I don't know anyone in Jail especially in Texas.

Received a call from this number saying that they were calling from TCP software and were asking what our company uses for employee time clock/time scheduling software to schedule our employee's work schedules. He said his name was Billy. He wouldn't give me his email address when asked for it and instead asked me for my email so that he can send me information regarding what he is selling. I asked instead for a callback number and this is what he gave me. It's also the same number from caller ID. I assume this was a vishing (scam) call, but I'm not certain.

I was told that there were 3 allegations with my name. 1) was drugs, 2) was money laundering and 3) wad Identity theft through the Postal Office or some other means. They asked if I knew anyone in Mexico. They said I was a victim/target, listing a bunch of banks and asked if I had an account with any of them or not. The banks were Bank of America, Chase, Wells Fargo or Navy Federal. I do have one of the options listed and panicked when said bank was mentioned! Which I'm going to call said bank soon. They also mentioned two addresses associated supposedly with my name and I was given a name to contact/call back. The "agent" was Sara Melendez with a badge number of CBP3349, a case number of DMC701085 and the call back number of (956) 764-3349. However throughout all of that the phone call was incredibly static and cut out often, so I did have a hard time understanding everything as well as still unsure if this is a rare occurrence of this being genuinely legitimate.
