Called office asking to verify if a person had been treated at our clinic. We would not say yes or no as this would be a violation of the HIPPA law. I suspect the individual calling was doing work on a insurance or WC claim they trying to establish fraud. Then she asked for our FAX number which we also did not give her. Beware as there are a number of companies that try to trick who ever answers the phone into giving out protected health information. You could be on the end of a HUGE fine.
