Said they were sheriffs who were going to take my house in a voicemail if I didn’t call back. Really scammers?
They guy said he was from Allstate and asked to give me a car quote with only my first name and car information. Then he transferred me to a woman on a recorded line from another company (something like United States insurance) who needed my date of birth, and "other qualifying questions" in order to get me the best quote. Stopped the conversation there.
In my voicemail, the recording stated the call was for someone else. THey were creating documents and if no return communication was made within 24 hours, the documents were going to be created. I called back, a man answered, he said it was a law firm. I persisted to get the name, he transferred me to a "switchboard." Nobody answered and it just rang back to the man. I asked him to take my number off their calling list. He told me to ignore the calls.
