Called, said my daughter's name and it was ATT and they were calling to get the pin code texted to my phone to unlock hers. This was a hacker!
They said that I had called them and had reported an issue with my phone with Japanese wording. I didn't give any information. I did ask which phone number had called and she gave me mine and I said what info did you give and out. She said she was transferring me to the fraud dept. I called and hung up and called AT&T and had them note my account.
The number 877 714-1509 has been calling every day. After reading this post, I will block it right away
05/20/2021 AT&T website (att.com/myprepaid which reroutes to paygoonline.com) posted notification saying may be eligible for EBB Emergency Broadband Benefit. After submitting to see if I qualify for EBB (asks for last 4 SS & DL) on site checklifeline.org (National Verifier). Got confirmation yes qualify - but then IMMEDIATELY received a call from 877-714-1509 caller ID said AT&T. caller said name JORGE with AT&T (would not give last name). he asked me to confirm DOB, EBB application #, phone #. Really weird he wouldn't give last name OR INITIAL of last name or employee number- did quick search of phone # and I hung up bec seen these scam reports from same number. AT&T / EBB ARE YOU POTENTIALLY HACKED? IF THIS VERIFICATION CALL WAS NOT LEGIT / SINCE SO MANY SCAM NOTIFICATIONS FROM SAME #877-714-1509. AT&T/EBB HELP YOUR CUSTOMERS IMMEDIATELY. OR DO YOU JUST USE SAME CALL CENTER NUMBER AS POTENTIAL SCAMMERS? VERY SKETCH. SAME NUMBER CALLED BACK 2 MORE TIMES. NOT SURE IF LEGIT FROM AT&T OR SCAM. Caller said couldnt give last name just to note time and date of call. FTC please notify AT&T and Emergency Broadband Benefit & Lifeline National Verifier. call came from same number 877-714-1509.
