Yes debt collector 866-862-8289
Received two calls from these people, claiming to be AmeriDebt, on 31 July 2019 and 13 Sept 2019. These seem to be robocalls using a female voice. Message says they are attempting to collect a debt, no information provided about the nature of the debt or who owes it. Requests a callback to 866-862-8289. I have no outstanding debts of any kind and will not call them back.
I got the same bogus debt collector mentioned previously, with a callback of (866)862-8289. I owe nothing. I have received similar calls in the past from phony debt collectors. Whatever you do DO NOT, repeat, DO NOT, call that 866 number, and do not answer any calls from them (assuming you have an answering machine an use it to screen your incoming calls). If you do, they can claim that they have an ongoing relationship with you and you cannot take legal action against them for unwanted calls. If calls persist, file a formal complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau at consumerfinance.gov (855) 411-CFPB (2372) That will work, I have done it.
A call from this number has been on going. They say they are a debt collector, but leave no information as to who the debt belongs to, or what the debt is for. Without that information, there is no way I'm calling back for information.

I know for a fact that I haven't had bad credit for 20+ years. Of course, Americollect can't seem to be blocked & it'll go to vmail when/if you DO answer when they call.
