received a VM about repayment of student loans. Phone never rang though. Since I have no student debt (it's all paid off - yay!), I knew it was fake.
Calling in regards to student loan. I called my service company separately to verify that my account is in good standing - and it is. They also verified that they wouldn't be calling me. This is one is weird because it sounds so real

A very professional voicemail message from a woman who claimed she was calling about student loan options and to contact her back with a particular reference number. Anything relating to the government will always be communicated with a letter for documentation purposes never a phone call.
