Complete scam from this number. I was confirming my information, when I realized something was not right and told this man by the name Shay Marco that I was going to walk to the SS office right around the corner from my office. Do not answer or give your information to this number.
DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR INFORMATION. These people are lying to you. This man answered the phone and said I could write down his name "Shane Marker" and they transferred me to a US Marshal last name "Cho". All the people speaking over the phone held Indian accents. Every chance I said "i'll just go to the SSA near me to discuss this" they would shut me down and try to tell me it was a high profile situation, to take care of it ASAP.
Asked for my social security number, claimed to be the IRS
ask me to call back to avoid any legal consequences???
Woman answered with fake name and badge number. She said she was in Maryland, but refused to say which part. Complete Scam.
Phishing SS number call. Scammers suck.
keep calling and asking for ss
they just called me for the same reason as many here... my SS have been stolen and they were asking me form personal information. i asked them where can I go personally and give all my information. he asked me where was the nearest police station to where I was and I told him. i google the number they have from the police station and the funniest part of the conversation was, that he used the same number as the police station that you find in google and he tried his best to change his voice to pretend he was someone else and I started to laugh really loud and he just hang up. watch out because they can also call you from any number for you to think is a real call
.
Their website is fake. Definitely a scam.
Got call from 8556771646 stating that my SSN has been used illegally and asked to press 1 to connect to someone to speak to. I will try to waste sometime of this scammer if he calls back.
Said my social security number was going to be "suspended" and to press (1) to be connected to someone who could help.
I received same call about suspicious activity with my social security number in El Paso, TX. He had Indian accent and advised me that I have an arrest warrant. He called me from 855-677-1646 and said to Google it to see it's a SSA headquarters. I asked him why I wasn't sent a letter regarding this high alert situation. He gave me a ID #, badge number and arrest warrant number. I Googled the number and advised him this is a scam and also said I should receive a letter. He kept interrupting me but I told him this is bullshit. I'm a paralegal and know you don't just receive a call. He hung up. He did have my home address, and age. Yes, the FBI should be looking into this. Some people may be scammed into giving money to these people. Absolute SCAM!!!!
The number is listed on SSA.gov's https://www.ssa.gov/hqalert/ and the person insists that my SS# will be cancelled if I don't give him more information. I told him I was more comfortable visiting my local SS office instead and he hung up.
This number called me today to tell me my social security number has been suspended and that I’m being connected to money laundering issues In Texas. Just a whole bunch of things I can’t explain it all but I was freaking out. The FBI needs to look into these scams
Told me my social security number was suspended.
The number is listed on SSA.gov's https://www.ssa.gov/hqalert/ and the person insists that there's a BIG case of money laundering involved. To that I say: our government's number is being used for fraud! :( The FBI should get involved and track down these sophisticated perpetrator! The person gives himself the name of officer Rick Smith, but of course his Indian accent gave it away.
