This agency started calling me five days, including a weekend, after they received a response from ny insurance company. They couldn't even tell me when they actually sent me a bill in the mail. I have not received a bill yet. But they felt the need to start calling to harass me about payment. I will most assuredly be calling the doctor's office to tell him what I think about the company he has gotten into bed with. These collections people need to have a minimum amount of time they have to wait before harassing people. I have paid all of my medical bills immediately upon receipt in the mail.
A collection agency usually for a visit to the ER. They collect for a group of Dr's called The Schumacher Group who bill separately at many ER's even though you may be in network according to your insurer. It's disgusting what these people are doing to American's with insurance and a 10min hospital visit!! Read this article: https://www.nola.com/health/index.ssf/2017/05/balance_billing_new_orleans.html Do not pay the bill. Appeal it. If you get a bill after the fact, call the provider and the insurer, tell them you object, and follow any appeals procedure. Here is another advice post: http://www.nola.com/health/index.ssf/2017/05/so_you_are_at_an_in-network_ho.html
