Linksys router scam -had difficulty connecting my laptop with printer but the tech support showed me that I had to secure my firewall. There were all these IP addresses interfering and jumping into my network. Service person gave me his name: John Harvey ext. 1099, Linksys support at 1844-781-0111. He would not disclose where he was in CA because we were on a recorded line, and there was a 3 hour time difference. I am in CA, so how could there be a time difference? I knew immediately with his Indian accent, there is no way his name is John Harvey and he did not know I was in CA, too. I politely said I would call him back because I had a meeting on online - blocked his number and did not allow him to install anything. Please take note that anyone who has to google your router model and claims to work at Linksys, is someone who does not work there.

I was also given this number as technical support for Garmin Express Update. Let them remote in to update and clear the trojan horse that had infected my Nuvi. $129.99 wanted for cleaning up my Nuvi and was to leave my computer and NUVI connected for one hour for this to happen. Reconnect to Garmin on my phone and spotted the listed Garmin Scams listed in the REAL website. I blocked them from calling but they kept calling for 4 hours so far.

They seem to be running a Linksys Router scam. Have URLs assoc'd with Linksys Smartwifi and i hit it by mistake, and got them. They did end up telling me that I had the Alureon worm which is a big deal.

Same with me. Thru a fake Garmin GPS site. I googled Garmin scam and the Real site posted known scams and said to contact the Federal Trade Commision. I did now report it and I contacted my CC company to dispute the charges. This phone number belonged to Geek Infotech Solution, also known ss Geek Infotech SolutionLLC. I found 2 different web sites for this scammer. And he, Conner, was so friendly. They operate in Maine and California. This phone number is no longer in service and I got no response from email.

WOW. It just happened to me. The "support" person was so pushy and insistent and wouldn't give me a straight answer that I finally told him I'd call back later. Isn't this a crime?
