I got a call today, from someone posing as con ed billing dept. they said my last two bills are unpaid. If not paid immediately they will disconnect my service. when i asked "the rep" when Con Edison switched from 800 to an 844 number, they hung up on me... so rude. POS.

I received the same scam call posing as Con Ed saying my electric will be shut off unless I made a payment today . The only way that they could accept payment was Zelle....no debit cards because of Covid!!! I told her I would find her and cut her eyes out and feed them to my dog
Caller was from so-call New Rochelle Electrical Contractors, located at 67 River St, New Rochelle, NY 10801, calling from 914-380-8419...They in turn want you to call 844-342-9746 to avoid disconnection of your Con Edison today - - only thing is - - I'm not a resident of New Richelle, and I do not pay for Con Edison. Total Scam!
scam! just got a call saying they were going to disconnect coned. Fools dont even realize i dont use coned for my energy provider!
Just got a call from this number and said that they are from con Edison and 2 bill cycles are passed due. This is a scam.
Just received a voicemail message from P# 844-342-9746 informing me that I had missed my last 2 Con Ed payments & my service was about to be turned off. Called Con Ed & the scammers were able to get into & interrupt the call! Hung up & blocked the phone number & then called ConEd back to report the scam/fraud. Definitely block the scammer’s phone number first. Then report scan/fraud.
Just got one from "Michelle" at extension 1832 saying the con ed in my apartment was about to be turned off. Lots of holes in story (The Technician is on the way to take the meter out in 30 minutes/They're going to get there tomorrow or the next day/etc). Wanted my Zelle info "because that's the only way to generate a confirmation code..." etc.
Just got a call from this number saying that Con-Ed was about to terminate my service. I called back and asked them to tell me my address and my name and they couldn't tell me. When I asked too many questions, they hung up.
Just got a call from this number from someone named Christopher. Said he was from PG&E and that my service was going to be turned off due to nonpayment. I asked him for my account number and he said that he didn't have it. I asked him how he was going to turn my service off if he didn't have my account number. (I was playing along and messing with him.) He then said he would connect me to his supervisor. Of course, no one came back on the phone. This is a SCAM.
