Got a call from 844-206-7853 attempting to collect an outstanding IRS debt. When I asked caller for 'case' information, since as far as I am aware, IRS always communicates via USPS mail in these cases, she hung up. SCAM....
Just hung up as soon as the said this is the IRS

Asking for Social and address as if to verify their records. and per Informed me that if we are on a cell or cordless phone, other people could listen and he needed my permission to talk about the debt from IRS. I said I am not comfortable to disclose any over the phone asked them to send a physical mail. Disconnected immediately.
Whats to collect bad debt for IRS. Sounds very professional and speaks English very well. In today's technology, cell phones are encrypted and offer great privacy, but there is technology to listen to call made from any device, so privacy is not secure using any device if someone wanted to listen. I informed him I was eating dinner and if he would call back in 5 mins I would talk to him...never called. I will update this message after I try to contact him again.
844-206-7853 keeps calling. Scam phishing for personal info. They claim that you have some debt and try to get your personal info. I hope the relevant authorities find them and shut them down.
