I received this exact message. I called the number. The representative I talk to asked for my name and he asked me how much student loan debt I owed. I asked him if you were truly affiliated with the United States department of education why don’t you have this information on file. He told me that they are not given this information because it’s just an application process they go through and then he cut out and I got a “thank you for calling” , and I was hung up on. I live in Denver Colorado. And for the record I knew it was probably a scam I was gonna just talk to them and see what happened, abs what happened was exactly what I thought would happen.
