Microsoft 360 Support3 days ago
I clicked on a MSN news link that reverted to a Pornohub, com web site. To which I immediated exited. However, short time I clicked a news article and immediately received a "Very Official (looking) Microsoft Security Warning that said my computer had been infected and I lost cursor/exit screen control and that I needed to call Microsoft Security at the above number. The individual identified himself as Henry Harvin with Microsoft 360 and he gave me his ID # MS1996. And he took me through steps to gain control of my computer and said my computer was being attacked by numerous malicious users and that he needed to report this information to my financial institutions and while he did that - he wanted me log into my accounts to verify no suspicions transaction have occurred since the infection warning. After about 30 -40 minutes of walking through steps to verify various cmd prompt: Netstats. He then elevated my call to his Technical Specialist and supervisor who wanted me to once again log-in to my financial accounts. I asked why and was given the same answer that they needed to report the information to the government agencies. I became very suspicious as to the why and his insistence that I hang on and wait 4-5 minutes for home to check things out. I challenged him again as to why... and the agent became very demanding. I told him I was not comfortable with this call I deleted all remote connections and the phone call. I immediately logged into my financial accounts and changed my password on all my accounts and am now running a full security scan of mu computer. I believe this was a high level Scam to try to gain access to my financial accounts.
When i initial became suspicious... When I asked for Microsoft confirmation...Henry Harvin called me on his direct number: 650-877-2883 and like wise he gave me Edward Paul (his supervisors #) as 510-269-2119...
