Attempt to get McAfee renewed that I don't have for $299.00 from my checking account. Did I call no. I looked it up online by the phone number it gave me.
Received a text saying I have a Alert: Dear user, your service is about to auto-renew. View details & more: https://ebilling.tech/bill/ or contact us at +1 832-838-1164. McAfee scam. They wanted to charge my checking account $299. Called number. No answer
Received text advising my account was compromised and they were billing me $299 for McAfee. When I called person answered 'hello', first clue not McAfee, then when I said I was checking with my credit card company he hung up. SCAM - be careful!
Sept. 16, 2021...got a text...said they were from McAfee...said someone had hacked my checking account for $299... asked me to go onto my computer to stop the transaction...DO NOT RESPOND!
Saying they are McAfee and they have charged $499 for 5 years of security
