BEWARE: Xcel scam call. phone call came in looking like an Xcel Energy call. They stated that I was scheduled for a disconnection in 30-45 minutes. If you would like to speak to a billing department press 1. I pressed 1. Transferred to a a representative. At that time he asked my billing address. I gave that to him, also gave my name. He said yes it looks like there is a red flag on your account. I said well I don't understand why. All while on this call I pull up my online account and state to them that my bill of $xx is due on March 23. I do not have a past due amount. At that moment they hung up on me! Please beware if you get this call!!!!
call from an energy company I've never heard of
No one there when answered. Surprise, we don't have Excel Energy.
Yep, got same call a few minutes ago. A real fraud, since our bill is current and always has been.
RECEIVED A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER CLAIMING ITS EXCEL ENERGY AND THAT WE ARE SCHEDULED TO BE DISCONNECTED TODAY, WHICH IS IN FACT FALSE.

Received call, Xcel Energy going to cut me off in 45 minutes, press 1 to speak to a rep. Rep picked up and it sounded like a huge boiler room telemarketing setup. Was asked name and gave name of a truck driver I knew 40 years ago and 1000 miles away. No validation or confirmation that I wasn't who they thought they were calling (so likely a demon dialer feeder in their system). He then asked for my service address. I said "you're calling me, tell me what address you're going to cut off in 45 minutes". Click. They hung up immediately. Bastards...
