Attempted to impersonate a mortgage lending company and verify information

Same experience as the prior comments. They are getting info from the public record and impersonating a credit checking company acting on behalf of your new lender. Disregard their inquiries and contacts!

I'm in the middle of a mortgage refinance. Actual woman called (not a robocall, or maybe a very very sophisticated one) and said they were working with the new lender to "verify" my credit info. Knew both the new lender and the current lender, but otherwise gave what seemed like BS information. When I pressed her about how I could know if this was legit and asked her to have the new lender contact me directly, she quickly got me off the phone. Had a heavy Indian accent that made her hard to understand, so I'm not 100% sure what she was saying, but felt like a phishing operation.

Attempted to "verify" my credit data.

my mortgage company told me that this phone number was logged onto my account as a contact number. Phishing on steroids!!!

female with a heavy accent very hard to understand,gave a ref.number twice both were diff. numbers??Not going to call these people back they wanted information about my American Express card.

Female calling inquiring about old home equity line of credit , that had been paid off years ago. We are currently being approved for a mortgage, not sure if this is just a coincidence.
