I received a call from this number at 5:13 am Sunday 8/17/25 morning claiming to be Wells Fargo stating that a $224.35 transaction from GameStop had been charged to my account. It sounded legitimate, except for one thing…I don’t have a Wells Fargo account.
Received call at 1:30am est. voicemail claiming to be Wells Fargo Fraud Dept stating a charge from Best Buy of $246.00 was denied. I do not have any accounts with Wells Fargo. 800-869-3557 does belong to Wells Fargo, are the spam/fraud calls spoofing?
Said they were Wells Fargo. Said someone tried to charge $200 + o Best Buy. Aske me to call ! 855- 726-2344. Said it was their Fraud Prevention Team. I don't have any accounts with Wells Fargo.
I got a call from 800-869-3557 at 2:46AM claiming that someone tried to use one of my accounts to purchase items at BestBuy and they wanted me call them.
Automated call saying a $224 charge was attempted at BestBuy.com and to call a specific number to verify. I didn't write down that number and called the Wells Fargo fraud dept directly who confirmed this is a known scam.
Call from Wells Fargo, stating they had discovered possible fraudulent on my Wells Fargo account (which I do not have) for $264 and to please call if I did not make this purchase.
At 12:38 am Sunday 8/18/2025 we get awakened by a call with a recording saying they're Wells Fargo and they've blocked a suspect transaction to our account from Best Buy dot com. Nobody in this household has a Wells Fargo account! Wells Fargo, you need to fix your problem!

It is 9:23 pm on Sunday, 8/17. I got a call from "Wells Fargo Home Morgage". WTF? I don't own a home. I don't do business with Wells Fargo - at all. It is Sunday night! I did not answer the call, the business came up on caller ID and I did a web search to be certain. Good grief, can't you stop these unwanted calls? Do not call registry is worthless

Got a call from 800-869-3557 stating they were calling from Wells Fargo Loss Prevention, I checked the caller ID this number which came up and it appears legit. They proceeded to tell me that my debit card was being used out of state and they were verifying the transaction, etc., they even sent a verification text to my phone. They told me they were blocking that card and would be sending a new debit card. Long story short, they were the thieves who created a digital card and stole $1,500 from my accounts. I have only had these accounts since January. Beware of these professional criminals!!!
I received a call this evening from a man with a foreign accent claiming that he is with Wells Fargo and that my debit card has been compromised $1000.00. He asked if I could provide the last 4 digits of my debit card. Of course, I said "Absolutely not", and told him that I will contact my bank. He argued and kept telling me that he is from Wells Fargo, I hung up.
