Who called me from this phone number (800) 696-8306

Social security scam. They said due to suspicious activity involving my Social Security number, my Social Security number and all benefits have been blocked. But I could connect and talk to an operator. I did, and I asked the person, who sounded a lot like a child, to please remove my number from the call list and he said OK and hung up on me.
