I had a similar experience. Errors appeared on my PC and I called the contact number. They claimed they were USA-PC and got into my PC and displayed their number. They wanted to charge me $399 for a 3 year contract. I tried to pay them. But my bank says the payment never went through. It would have been to USA-PC. I talked to USA-PC today and they had no record on any contact with me. I got a call on 8/30 claiming they were USA-PC. I wanted to request a refund of $423.95. They modified my refund number and said that $4233,95 would go into my bank account. That amount never went in. They accessed my bank account information and made it look like the money went in. Then they called me to get me to withdraw money and get some gift cards. This is a common scammer practice. They play victim and claim their job is in jeopardy if we can't resolve things. I had been victimized by a similar scam last year and lost a lot of money. This time I was suspicious but I did send them $1,500 in gift cards. Then I stopped to cut my losses in case is was a scam. Thinking might be real I contacted USA-PC today to try to get my money back. They told me they had nothing to do with me, that I was being scammed. I called 800-660-0516 today and they answered claiming they were microsoft. They are crooks and need to be apprehended.
