Attempted to call Direct TV and dialed 800 instead of 888 - noticed when they answered the phone, they used a cable/satellite company name very similar, but they were not answering as “Direct TV” so I hung up. However, a few hours later, I began receiving calls from this 800-531-2020 claiming to be Direct TV calling about a promotion. I told him Direct TV hasn’t been functioning in my home for a month now, so unless he was going to promote my cost to zero, I wasn’t interested. He told me to, “F%CK OFF” and hung up. Obviously, it was not Direct TV so I Googled the number. It is actually a line to a legitimate and respected company, Bausch and Laumb

Obviously, it was not Direct TV so I Googled the number. It is actually a line to a legitimate and respected company, Bausch and Lomb. I called and let them know what happened, and they created a ticket for their company to investigate. I blocked the phone # from calling again, but we’ll see if they have multiple lines.

Just called today said he was from Directv & AT&T with a promotion & that my monthly bill would be reduced...when I asked when it would start he hung up! He also had a heavy accent.

stated he was from direct tv and offered us a promo of 24/mo for 2 yrs. he even knew that we had a service call date on 6/12 but when we asked who the service technician was and when it was rescheduled, he said, here's your account number which sadly he knew!
