Me too
Same fake Verizon text about an iPhone 12 mini for free
OMG, good I checked online. How can they keep using the same number, and couldn’t get caught? So many scams nowadays!!
Just received this same text and checked it out online since I am a Verizon customer. If it's too good to be true, it's too good to be true! So sick of these scammers!
Same text received tonight. Apple offer $5
Scam. If anyone asks you to confirm a 6-digit code that they messaged you, DON’T TELL THEM! The 6-digit code is a part of two factor authentication. Only YOU should ever use a 6-digit code and it is meant to be entered on your device, not told to someone else. If you do, that person can access whatever account they’re hacking.
Same as everyone else. Called and they asked for me to turn off Find My iPhone. Last red flag was when they could not explain why my number got the offer (“something with our loyalty department”). Probably a scam where you send them your phone to “trade in” and you don’t get a new phone back

Thanks all...just got this text explaining they're verizon and to call the number to trade in for an iphone upgrade. What initially got me was the text was from a number starting with "+90" like my actual verizon communications do. regardless, their offer was so absurdly good that I decided to google beforehand...glad I did!
I just got one. Same thing.... Impersonating Verizon. I’m in Centralia, Washington
Thanks folks got a message from “Verizon” as well and looked it up here
I just received this text as well in Henderson (Las Vegas!), NV at 2:25pm Friday, November 20, 2020.

This is actually not a scam. I called Verizon directly through My Verizon app and it is legit. The $5 is only if you upgrade to their premium unlimited plan. If no plan upgrade, then it is an additional $120.
