message claims the call was from Apple and that my Apple unit had been used to call oversees and for me to call Apple tech support .....I do NOT own any Apple devices.

For unknown calls, I immediately put the phone on mute & speaker. I answer if I hear it's a person & there are no call center noises in the background. Otherwise, I stay on mute and wait until they hang up. After a few times, robo/call centers learn it's a bad # and you're off their list!
