Some guy named “Jim Rosenthal†allegedly from Choice Home Warranty called our house phone, claiming we signed up on their web site for a price quote for insurance. He knew our names and email address. But no one in our household has ever heard of this company and certainly never signed up for anything on their website that we’ve never visited. The man was extremely pushy, rude, and talked over us, not letting us get a word in edgewise! When I told him I was going to write down his name and website address, he demanded I skip that and go directly to the website on my computer. I refused and again asked for his name and phone number. He hung up on me at that point. At best, this is a harassing cold sales call. At worst, this is a scam or a spoofed number. Through other online reports about this phone number, I have found additional numbers this “Choice Home Warranty“ calls from and blocked all of them. If you get any phone calls from this so-called company, do not answer your phone, and then go block the number. Unfortunately, they will continue to call and harass you incessantly from other phone numbers, so keep blocking them each time they do call. And, should you answer the phone to take the call, under no circumstances should you give them ANY information about yourself, your household, finances, address, etc! And do not confirm ANY information they already have about you! This is one particular scam/fraud/telemarketer/spoof that scared me because he knew too much personal information about us and our household...moreso than the usual scam/telemarketing callers. So DO NOT ANSWER these calls, and DO make sure you BLOCK THEM ASAP after they do call!
