I just got a call, same type thing message, this call is for "name of person" when "name of the person is available press 1. It said something to the effect that i have been formally served. So i hold and ask the guy what this is. He says he is medation group. I ask again, who do you work for. He says a Law Firm. He hangs up. So i call back. Get the same guy. He won't tell me his law firm, he knew my last 4 and asked me to verify it. I gave no answer and asked him again who are you, and who do you work for. What is this account? He said fraudulent use of a checking account. I laughed. Because at this point i know he is a scammer. He hung up. I call back again, they continue to hang up. He called from a colorado number, so i had said, you are calling me from southern colorado. He said, no im not im calling from Utah. I said why is your number from Colorado then. This before he hung up the second time. This is a setup. They are trying to get personal details. He would not give me his law firm name, nor any info. Every time I asked about anything. he hung up. They are looking for people to just answer the personal questions. Your bank, nor a law firm would ever ask you for personal information like this.
6-7-18 (3:10 pm) - Just received a call from 719-309-9053. I currently live in AL, but my phone is a CO-based #. However, I don't answer my phone, as I let it go to VM. The VM left was a recorded message from a man stating he was an arbitrator or mediator (can't remember) from the County Office, not sure which one he said, if he said at all. BWT ...name was mentioned either. He then said the message was for and another "recorded insert of name" was said & referenced through the message. The name (ironically) was my ex-husband's 1st ex-wife's name, which she has ZERO ties to my phone number & also lives in a different state, which leads me to believe this is a scam call of some sorts. Of course he also referenced a case number and said I could "hold" to be transferred to a department or call back to 844-263-8455, and then says consider this message to mean that I have officially been notified. After looking up both numbers, I see this is a scam. So beware!
