received call from a man claiming to be from pch. gave me a claim number of EI199025PCH. I was transferred to the general manager Bob Miller at extension 5 from the following number 717-603-6438. When I was transferred he wanted me to confirm my name phone number and address. I asked for his physical location and he said Port Washington, New York. That this was the location he was now in. I asked for the PCH address and phone number and he was going to give me the address but gave me the same number. When I was transferred a woman answered stating Publishers clearing house, may I have your extension? I told them I did not feel right and this sounded like a scam. I wanted to verify the information as PCH never asked for phone number on entry or purchase,So how did they get my number? He said they have to do a background check on every winner to be sure they are not giving money to drug dealers or criminals! Ha ha, like him? I told him I would give no further information until I checked it out and that I had their number. I also told him a few times that I had been a victim to scams before and I would not fall for another. he said ok to that and I quickly hung up. I was care full not to say yes when he wanted to confirm the winning claim number, and instead answered with " that is what I said". DO not get scammed people.

This number is associated with a Publishers Clearing House Scam. They will tell you that you have won the sweepstakes. However, they do not know anything about you. i.e. Name, Address or anything else about you. But, they have your phone number. (If you filled out a sweepstakes form, PCH would have this information.) Before you get very far into the conversation, they will want to know your bank Name and how long it takes you to get to the bank. (Red Flag) If you don't tell them your bank, they will get upset and tell you they will give your funds to charity. (Run) Go to the PCH website. It will tell you that PCH does not call winners.

This number is associated with a Publishers Clearing House Scam. According to the PCH site, they do not call winners. For sweepstakes winnings, the IRS will take their money out upfront; they will not allow PCH to send you a check and then pay taxes.

Caller said he was with PCH and I had won money. Just needed to pay the taxes on it first.
