Who called me from this phone number (715) 800-1747

Received several phone calls from (715) 800-7147 claiming they were employees of AT&T demanding a fee or terminating service. Red Flags were I've never seen a telephone number with middle digits being 800. Seen complaints lodged against this phone number. Person state they were calling from Michigan, but 715 is Wisconsin? My call to AT&T stated this is a clever and sophisticated scam. BEWARE, the scammer is cunning and presistent..
