made me think there were a scam
Received a call with my name and asked that I call 970-698-9023 with a file number. I called that number back and it stated it was not a good number. I then looked at my phone and it was another number that they called in on. They knew my last 4 numbers of my social. They said they would be serving me with court documents at my home or my place of employment within the next 5 to 10 days if I didn't make an arrangement to pay now and I had to give them my bank account number so that the payments would be withdrawn automatically. The lady's name is Barbara and I told her I have no idea who I am giving a credit card to. She said my name is Barbara - I know that - but who is she? She then told me I wish you the best at mediation. I looked up both phone numbers and it looks like it is all a scam. Beware.
Call received this afternoon stating they were with Capital Reassurance and someone filed a complaint and that I needed to call their mediation department. However never said who they wanted. Smells like a SCAM!
This number called my cell phone. It was a live person leaving a message for -- then it was a recorded voice sting my son's first name and middle initial, did not say last name. The live person then continued saying that they were Capital Reassurance and they received a mediation notice and he was listed as a respondent. It was imperative that he call them to issue a statement from and again the recorded name and initial and left the number of 970-698-9023. My son has never given out my cell and he has been living out of state and not with me for almost 20 years now. After looking at similar posts about this number I see it is a scam.
Caller says they are from Capital Reassurance and a complaint has been filed to collect a debt. It's a scam.
