Wanted me to switch telephone service could get it cheaper elsewhere
Got a call from Mikayla, (605) 217-7025 Stating she was our rep with century link trying to lower our business rates and asked to speak to the person in charge of our phones by name. Problem with this is I was put in charge of our account a year ago, the person they asked for no longer works here. RED FLAG. I told her I was surprised they called again since I had just spoke to our actual rep earlier this week, she promptly hung up.
She said she worked for Clear Water with Verizon and they get us better rates. I talk to my Verizon Rep on a regularly and they have never mentioned this. They gave our accounts main phone number for our business account which was invalid. I said I had to call my rep to discuss this and she hung up.
Called our business ,, then unfortunatly someone in my business gave them my cell number ,,,, called my cell atleast 6 times never leaving a message ,,, they had also told the person that answered at my business that I couldn't return their call ,,,,, RED FLAG and why I didn't answer when call my cell,,,,, I call centurylink myself and they told me it was a scam ,,, as a sidenote the actual CenturyLink rep also told me it would be over $5,000 a month for fiber optics in my area right now ,,,,, UM NO THANK YOU
Do not fall for this! They call and say theyre from Century link and want to record you agreeing to this better rate and will switch you from Century Link to this scam of a company. Hang up and report them to the FCC.
Received a call from a male claiming to be a centurylink affiliate. I actually do have my service placed through a real affiliate, but did not recognize the name they gave. As soon as I said the word scam, they hung up the phone.
Got a call this morning.......The lady hung up on me!!
Got a call from this number stating that they were Clear Rate hired by Century link due to some spin-off of their small business division due to a name change to Lumens. They knew my name and a lot of information about my current service. They quoted me lower rates and were going to give me a reference number for the change. I asked them to send me a written quote. He said their representative would do that later. I said no and contacted Century Link to find out that they were trying to scam me. Watch out.
I received a call from this same number also claiming to be from Clear Rate and that they could save us on our Frontier bill. After a google search I hung up. She called back asked for a different manager but then hung up before she was transferred.
Got a call saying that they were with Frontier Communications and that they were going to be changing to Clear Rates which would be lowering our line rates. When I wouldn't give a verbal OK, she got flustered and hung up. Contacted Frontier and they said this was a scam.
Said they were working with our phone company. I don't trust like that!!!
RECEIVED CALL FROM 605-217-7025 AMY stating she was with Century Link, wanting to speaking with the person who was in charge of the phone bill. She said they were lowing our bill, I asked if she was with Century link she said they are partnered up with Century Link . She was pushy and tried to get me to authorize a change I hung up. LIED!!!!!!
Claimed to be from Century Link and hung up when I asked for his call back number. We do not use Century Link, but he insisted one of our lines was not switched Baloney!
RECEIVED CALL FROM 605-217-7025 AMY stating she was with Century Link, wanting to speaking with the person who was in charge of A/P. All of our legit services has our A/P correct number. After disconnecting. I dialled the number went to a generic voicemail. No prompts or stating Century Link what so ever.
Claims century link
Asked about Century Link
Same as comments above. Told me I would be billed if I didnt do it now. Told him to go ahead and bill me, cuz I dont have an AT&T account
My experience was the same as others mentioned above regarding AT&T retiring old copper wiring over to all digital. We have not received any such notice in Jan 2020 as called referred to. I told him we do not trust ANY COLD CALLS. We would contact AT&T directly on our own to be sure of the validity of his push to comply. At least this call was a polite, business manner, unlike calls from other numbers with rude, emergency on their part attitude, demanding we would have no choice, work was taking place and we would be charged latter, where now it was free of charge to make the transition.
Same as others--said he was from AT&T and to avoid the $199 per line charge we needed to act today. When pressed about being an actual AT&T employee, he hung up.
