Ooh, these sneaky people. It came up as American Express. I do have an outstanding balance with them, so I thought it was legitimate. He knew how much I owed and I tried to get a settlement number. He was SUPER aggressive. He wanted to know if I was going to pay with a debit card or a bank account number. I said I wanted to hear what his supervisor said. He said I needed to give him those numbers first. Big Red Flag! Looked up this number and viola! Its a scam! Be careful!!
These have to be the rudest people ever. They won't tell you why they are calling, other than they are a debt collector. If it was a valid call they should at least be able to tell me who they are and what account/company it is for.
Calls nearly every day. I block the call so I don't know who is on the other end.
