Who called me from this phone number (540) 870-6195

They just said they were on a recorded line about my mortgage. They woke my wife up for one, two that is NOT a charity call, so why did they not look at Do Not Call List before dialing my number. Has to be a total scam or advertisment. I hung up as I was mad and didn't want to say out loud what was in my mind.
