I get calls from this number several times a week, they never leave a message. I called the number back today and got a recording saying they were MRS Associates and to hold for the next available agent. I hung up and googled the company. They are a collection company out of New Jersey with a bad reputation for using harsh tactics to get people to pay money they may not even owe. Some of their corporate clients they work for include companies in the telecom, student loan, auto loan, credit card, and healthcare industries. I have no debts, my home is paid off. The only reason I can think of that they are calling me is because an ex wife of mine owes money on several loans. I got a calls from another collection company last year and surprisingly left a message for me (My Name) to call them. When I did that is when they asked me about my wife and the money she owed. That is when I informed the woman that called that we have been divorced over 20 years now and I am not responsible for her debts. She then asked me if I had any information on her as they have been trying to get a hold of her for months. I gave her the only phone number I had for her and told her it was several years old, we do not contact each other as I had a restraining order on her for years. Then I told this woman that several other companies have been looking for her and calling me. She said something like that figures and thanked me. She also said that they would make a note about me and the date of our divorce in her file and they would not call me again. The problem is, these collection companies buy and trade debts on those that owe, but never forward my information. So the next company that gets her debt, Googles her name and I always show up as a spouse, former spouse or relative. Then the game starts all over again. Google is one of the problems. They will list all kinds of information about you, but the never show a divorce with the connection. At best they will list, former spouse along this possible family. And there is no way that I've found to fix or remove that information.
