I am in NC! I got this same call, from Clearing House
Recording saying I won 2nd place in Publisher's Clearinghouse, and asking me to call back with a confirmation number.
I had the same experience, several calls from 516-400-6066 which I ignored because I don't know the number. Then got several calls from an "unknown" caller. He asked why I hung on him (I didn't but my son did) and I asked him who he was and why he was calling my number? His response was that he was from Publishers Clearing house. So I asked him to remove my number from his calling list and his response was "you want to remove your lips from my d***". SO I hung up. Its coming as unknown caller now, so i can't block :(
I too won the second place prize (SHEESH). I called back over a blocked line *67 blocks your number from the call recipient. A Robot answered and told me to have a blessed day. I told the robot I would be contacting the authorities
A message was left that I was a second place winner in the publishers clearing house and to contact Mark Allen prize patrol manager
It's a robocaller stating that you are a "2nd place winner in Publishers Clearinghouse". Ohhhhh Kaaaay......have NEVER participated in the contest, but I "won" anyway. Hope they reserve a special place in Hell for you scamming a-holes.
I was contacted first by an automated phone call from Publishers Clearing House on 3/10. I did not recognize the number so I declined the call. It went to voicemail. I was then contacted by a restricted number and a man claiming that I had won 5.5 million dollars and a Mercedes Benz as the second prize winner. I had a ton of questions as to how he had gotten my information. He stated that he received it from local businesses such as Walmart, Home Depot, Publix, and when paying my bills on time. Again, I asked why was his number restricted and masked? The guy hung up and called repeatedly from the New York phone number above. I did not sign up with Publishers Clearing House and do not receive their mailings. This call baffled me and I am very skeptical. The guy finally stopped calling after about the eighth attempt. After reading information on PCH, they do not call their winners and alert them of any prize. Usually, it is an email or the Prize Patrol, but people have signed up for the sweepstakes.
