We received a call from 512-566-5016 from someone identifying himself as James Martin. He talked about the broker/middle man and how CC rates were reduced but the middle man was not passing those savings on to us ..... very fishy letter they faxed to us.
The caller identifying himself as James was loud, pushy and asked questions about our merchant account, yet when queried who our merchant account was with spat out excuses why he did not have said data. I telephoned my merchant representative and relayed the event(s) to him; he spoke with his team and stated NO WAY would any one from his company make a call and neglect to identify they were our merchant service representative and offer specific information proving thus. This is referred to in the industry as 'SLAMMING" the recipient of the call until secure data has been obtained through this method... SCAMMER!!!
