Is 480-571-0038 a scam or spam call?
Scam caller. Attempted to obtain personal information and credit card number while pising as representative of Arizona Republic and offering heavily discounted subscription plus $200 gift card for answering a simple survey. Was all.set up.lije professional business. I was transferred to different lines to complete survey and then "finalize my.subscription and claim my reward". I was suspicious throughout the entire phone call, and fed them false information, or at lest info that wasn't current. The man on the other line, for some reason, presumably to make sure i wasn't feeding him false info, would purposely change a digit or letter in my name or something while repeating it back to me, which struck me as very strange because i don't find it possible to mishear "zero" as "five". Finally he asked for credit card info and i asked if there was another option, could they mail me an invoice and he stated yes but i would lose out on the gift card reward. I hung up after that.
