Who called me from this phone number (478) 242-8059

My call was an automated service saying it was regarding an important business matter. I hung up. Called the number later from a private line, and someone answered saying hello how may I help you? I asked what is this company's name? They replied, this is CMC (or CNC?) how may I help you? I asked what does that stand for? He did not respond, it seemed like the call went on mute. He did not hang up; so I hung up. I dont know if some of these phone apps are letting scammers use phone numbers that are not available. Or if the scammer actually answered the phone.
