Received a call from a white woman, american. Unlike many of the calls from scammers. Said she was calling from the IRS about a letter I wrote in April 2020 and apologized for taking so long to respond. This sent my red flags up because I never sent a letter. Then she said she would like to resolve the matter but needed to confirm my social. I hung up
Received call and voice mail was left. This was legitimate call from IRS agent that I had spoken to in the past week. She was providing updated mailing instructions to faciitate my refund which had been delayed due to Covid,
Got a call 385-288-3001 saying it was the IRS about my debt. Ask was my first name wrong last name, gave me the last 4 of SSN Then said it was about my EFIN number and ask for it to verify me I told her she was a scam call and hung up. The IRS don't call you to verify this information

Received a call stating they are from the IRS
Got one this morning. Most legitimate sounding one I’ve received to date. Usually very bad accents, or robo call. This lady was definitely American. She provided a badge number and was prepared to give me part of my SS# and I would need to provide the rest of the number for verification. That’s when the red flags went up. I asked what it was about, and she stated she could not tell me until I’ve verified my SS#. I asked her to send me a letter and she said she would. I’m sure I will not receive one.
