Received the below voicemail, which is an obvious scam. Nothing has ever been sent to me via USPS mail as part of the debt validation process, and if I genuinely owed something that had reached the point of pending litigation, I would have it reflected on my credit reports, which are clean. Don't fall for this.... Block their number "This is Angela Ross giving you a call today with the offices of Allenwood and Associates. My call is in reference to a claim we received here that is pending for litigation. It is imperative that I do speak with you or your legal representation to discuss further proceedings. I can be reached directly here in the office at 346-357-0810."
This is a scam!
I received a similar call theoretically violating the FTC.gov guidelines with these types of threats. Never heard of them either. Moreover, after further research, it's a non-fixed VOIP number, therefore, not associated with a name or a business in any shape or form. Usually, non-fixed VOIP phone numbers are used by scammers to ensure they remain geographically untraceable. This unethical attempt tactic of "legal proceedings" could be used for phishing or pretending to be a "collection agency" when they are not. If it's a real company, the number should be linked to an actual business, even the call-back number relayed by voicemail. Research. Save all evidence. And report to FTC.gov if they continue to harass. P.S. If my memory serves me well, I received a call months ago from the same number - expressing there was a claim against my SSN - contradicting the purpose of their call from the recent call that originated from the same number. Call from Allenwood and Assoc.?? Deanna Colbert?? I don't owe anyone anything and they threatened judgment.
Some guy named Gino claims to be filing a claim against SSN. Mumbles his last name and company name (Atwood/ Allenwood Associates?)
Ashley Eubanks from Allenwood agency (for some reason, doesnt exist on google) calls repeatedly threating impending legal action, filling against my social security, sending couriers to multiple address, all very scary. However she does graciously offer to let me settle out of court. So you know, for sure not a scam......
