The caller had a very thick Asian accent. She asked for us by name, saying that an "investment firm" interested in apartments was interested in buying our home; she already had our address. We've received cold calls in the past from local realtors drumming up business in our area, so I asked, "What is the name of your firm?" She couldn't give me a direct answer. trying to say. In a very firm voice, I let her know that any investment firm that makes solicitation calls and is unwilling to identify themselves is disreputable and that she needed to find out who she is really working for, and better yet, quit the scam job and get honest work somewhere else. That call probably doesn't have a thing to do with local real estate or legitimate home sales and is just another phone scam to get someone's personal info. If that call did come from a local real estate company (which I highly doubt!), then they had better find a more effective way of cold-calling prospective clients!
