Caller ID from Chicago 312-239-0959, man with heavy Indian accent and boiler room background audio present, stated that I had overpaid my electric bill and asked me to get my copy of the bill. I pulled it up on-line. He asked me about certain charges. I asked him what the letters of my Electric Company (abbreviation) meant, I asked him a few times, he ignored me each time and then became defensive. He did not know what the parent company was of my electric company. He was after certain costs but I told him that if he was with that company then he should have that info. I asked him why the caller ID said Chicago and he stated he was not calling from Chicago but calling from my city then from a different city 2 counties away. He finally hung up. I think he was trying get my bank information (due to mentioning my overpayment) or to switch my electric service to another company. I hope everyone takes this scamming attempt seriously and ignore them.
Claimed he was PSE&G to get company account info. He was screened and denied from our staff. He then proceeded to harass us with several follow-up calls, only to be put on hold and eventually hanging up on his own and giving up on us.

This phone number keeps calling me and claiming they are Philadelphia Electric Company (PECO) and that I am over paying my bill. The person calling is a male with a heavy Indian accent. He claims that I don't have to pay certain portions of my bill and that PECO is going to repay the amount that is overpaid. I asked him where he was located and his employee ID number. Instead of answering he kept trying to get my information. Once I asked where he was located and he told me Philadelphia I then asked about certain landmarks and he hung up. It is a total scam. Don't give them your information.
