Got a call this evening (16 July 2019) from Bryan with the National Alliance for Police Organization doing annual pledge drive. Caught me in the middle of my sleep. I committed to their lowest pledge amount and told them to send me something in the mail so I could consider a higher donation. Was connected to someone in "quality control" to get my information and she had a foreign accent. She reminded me of the three pledge levels and gave me payment options. She then asked me if I was ready to provide my payment. I told her I told Bryan he could send me something in the mail and I would decide from there. Should have hung up, but in the dead of my sleep I gave my address to her. She repeated it back to me and said I should get something in the mail within three to five business days and asked me to return it with my pledge within a week of receiving it. I am pretty sure it was a scam after doing some Google research. Not sure if giving my address and nothing else is going to affect me in the future, but so glad I did not give out any personal account information. Time will tell how this turns out.
