Who called me from this phone number (240) 722-1470

I just received a call from this number and the message told me that my social security number had been involved in criminal activity and would be deactivated. I received a call from a different number about the same thing. The caller that I actually talked to asked for my social security number and, when I told him to tell me what it is, he said that I should know my own ssn and then asked me again to tell him my ssn. I refused to do so and he hung up. I really think that this is a phishing call and think others should be made aware.
