Scam from spoofed number.

Scam call from someone soliciting $ from the elderly.

Got a text message. Person claimed to be Rebecca Bailey of Ciena Corp. I have no idea if the name is legit or if the number has been spoofed. Turns out it was part of a scam to steal money under the cover of a job opportunity to make $29/hour working from home. They say they will send you a new i - Mac laptop but you have to purchase a bunch of software. They send a check to your email, you print it and then mobile deposit it to your account and once its accepted by your bank, you order $2800 worth of software from “a vendor they have been doing business with for a long time”. Except you never get any Mac or software and they get your money. They do the entire “interview” over either Skype or Google Hangout and want to know as soon as your bank has approved the deposit. In my case, thankfully, the bank rejected the deposit but as soon as I told the person I was IM’ing with, she went radio silent and blocked me.
