Same experience as all of the above. The check collector/driver is a very nice man. The poor guy already knows to ask me when he arrives "Did you really approve it this time?" ... He's had to ask me this many many times, and many many times he was told to come pick up a check that was never approved. Another trick of the retired officer is he likes to call my office and tell the office manager that I approved a check and get it ready for the driver" . If my office manager isn't answering the phone, he'll call back and tell the secretary that I want the office manager approved it but she's not in so she needs to get the check ready. He got away with that on several occasions until he just started sending the driver without any kind of consent with a receipt ready to collect. We verbally approved $1,000 total a year towards all locations (Merrillville, Gary, FOP , ect ect- Everything he collects goes into one bank account, it is not on a per town basis like he states) Apparently that wasn't enough for him. He sounds so angry and desperate for the donations as if he isn't going to be able to get whatever he needs to collect this money for so bad- because I know it's not for the innocent NWI Kids. He has never once shows gratitude or lets you know how the holiday went and what they were able to do for the children. I hope for the children's sake someone is auditing their books.

All these recent reviews about (219) 226-3044 are dead on! This guy is an absolute LUNATIC! The most recent review I read, I have learned he is a retired police officer. When you search the phone number, it comes up as Whiting Police Department. My boss has donated to this guy for around 10 years but enough is enough. This guy is the rudest, nastiest person I've ever encountered. He will lie and say he has talked to my boss and my boss left a check, when my boss hadn't even talked to him. If he doesn't get his way, he will be extremely rude. This guy is a loose cannon. He is extremely RUDE, unstable and has some major anger issues. STEER CLEAR of this guy. You have been warned! He says his name is "Dan." I am unsure of this last name so I will just say steer clear of (219) 226-3044. He is tarnishing what the F.O.P really stands for. He is extremely aggressive when trying to collect. For example, the other day he called the office 4 times in one day AND also called my boss's personal cell phone 5 times, so NINE TIMES IN ONE DAY!!

This A**hole is a retired Cop who now works part time harassing business owners and their office staff. Our company has donated faithfully several times a year for over a decade, but he is relentless! Sends the guys to collect money that he is told that we have promised to pay on more than 10 occasions the last two years. He is ruining the whole charity ! The charity itself is for such an awesome cause, but no one deserves to be degraded and harassed. It's sad that you have to be scared to not donate, as this guys is a loose cannon and still associated with the police dept. Instead of feeling like I'm doing my neighborly duty to humanity, I feel I am being strong armed. I just thank my blessings that I memorized the number and don't pick up anymore. It doesn't stop him from calling the cell phone numbers on our website. We've blocked those numbers but he still gets calls through with other ways.

My business donated to shop with a cop. Ever since then, he calls aggressively and is a complete di*k when we kindly say we can't. Continues to call and harass and leave rude message on my voicemails- saying I'm a joke because I don't call back. Sorry, I thought I was doing a good deed for the kids this asshole ruined it.

Man calls multiple times a week asking for the owner. Very rude every time he calls and gets down right nasty sometimes. Number comes up Whiting Police Dept.

Man calls every week wanting to talk to owner. He is nasty to anyone who answers the phone, especially the office manager. One time the owner answered the phone himself, and the man said to him.. no wonder your business is failing with ignorant people answering the phone. Owner told him to go F%&k himself. We would never do business with someone like that. Number says it goes to Whiting Police Dept. Spoofed number.. or the police dept should stick to policing and not phone calls.
