I'm on the market for a personal loan so I've attracted the attention of, and received numerous calls and texts from companies and lenders. This one just didn't smell quite right. First, the text was to a local phone number instead of a link to a web address; Second, the person on the phone didn't ask ANY of the questions that have become routine during my process. Right off the bat he said I was approved for my loan amount but that I was required to purchase loan insurance for a one time fee of $150. All they needed was my SSN, bank routing and account number. Thank God for the moment of clarity! When I expressed my concerns, the person just hung up on me. They are having ppl call a local 209 area code phone number which in my opinion makes then idiot's unless it's spoofed and redirected, but still... Anyway, be careful people.
I got a call from a guy named Calvin he said he was from a loan company and I was approved for a five thousand dollar loan but I would have to give him one hundred and fifty dollars for insurance on the loan. Sounds like a skam to me.
I received a call from this # and when I called back, he said his name was Calvin from some loan co. Proceeded to ask me if I was calling for a loan. When I said no and then asked to be removed from the call list his response was "stop calling my #, ok" and hung up on me.
